Reviews of Cows for Kids, Cow Fun and Facts

Reviewed by Bil Howard for Readers' Favorite

Anything and everything you ever wanted to know about dairy cows can be found in the fun-filled kids' book, Cows for Kids, Cow Fun and Facts by Malinda Mitchell. There is plenty of information about different colors, sizes, and breeds of cows, including beef cows, and pictures and even quotes by individual cows as they pose for the camera. The book continues to explain the process of milking cows and has plenty of helpful illustrations to get a good look at what actually goes on at a dairy farm. Cows for Kids doesn’t end there; there are plenty of pictures of exhibitors preparing their 4-H or FFA dairy project animals for the fair, as well as plenty of photos and comments from the cows themselves. What is even more amazing is the explanation and uses of the major by-product, manure, and how it even helps to produce electrical energy. If you are looking for a great educational book on dairy farming for a child between the ages of 8 and 12, it’s right here.

Malinda Mitchell has put together a very educational and fun-filled book for children. Her explanations and photos are informative and accurate, and the comments that the cows and calves in the photos make add a touch of light-hearted humor that will keep the reader smiling all the way through. Educational, entertaining, and fun; Cows for Kids, Cow Fun and Facts is an excellent look into dairy farming in a way that will keep young readers' interest.
